Councillor Carolina Claudia Clemencia Hanases was born on 16th January in Otjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa Region. She enjoys dancing and loves playing volleyball. She served as Windhoek’s Deputy Mayor from November 2020 to November 2021. Her biggest inspiration is her children and grandchildren that inspire her to flourish. She is generally passionate about children and wants to see them develop with the necessary guidance and it is that drive that landed her into the art of teaching. She has a background in teaching and has been a teacher for more than 20 years. She holds a diploma in Education and an Advanced Certificate in Senior Primary Education.

 

For her current term as Windhoek councillor, Cllr Hanases wants to bring awareness of the living conditions of Windhoek residents as well as an incorruptible character that could prove resourceful to the items brought to the fore. The inability to swiftly provide services to the residents and positively influencing their lives, is what she considers as the greatest challenge facing Windhoek at the moment.
