Option 1
Requirements for Service
- 1. Provide a copy of your latest fully paid services (municipal) account to your electrical contractor.
List of Steps
- 1. Fill in applicable form at Enquiries, at any City offices or Apply Online on E-Portal
- 2. Pay the required fee as per the approved tariff schedule at any City of Windhoek cash hall.
- 3. Conversion will be done departmentally
Instructions
Replace the existing electricity meter with a prepayment/conventional meter at the same place as the old meter. (It is a cheaper option since the work is carried out by the Electricity Department).
Option 2
Requirements for Service
- 1. Provide your electrical contractor with a copy of your latest, fully paid services (municipal) account.
List of Steps
- 1. Contactor (Registered with City of Windhoek) to fill in applicable form
- 2. Download Application
- 3. Pay the required fee as per the approved tariff schedule at any City of Windhoek cash hall.
- 4. After payment, Contractor to proceed with the meter installation
Instructions
Should option 1 not be possible as the client wishes the meter be installed at another location other than its initial location, electrical wiring is too small (installation has to be upgraded); the client has to make use of the services of a registered electrical contractor to install the prepayment/conventional meter.
