1. Cutting grass
• The Parks Division only cuts wild grasses on traffic islands adjacent to public open spaces and street corners to enhance the vision of road users.
• Grass on pavements in front of premises, whether residential or business, remains the responsibility of the owner or tenant.
• The Parks Division does not cut grass within river courses as the Division does not have the capacity to attend to all the riverine and to minimise soil erosion. A 3 meter strip should be cleared along the border by the owner or tenant as a fire break.
2. Street trees
• The Division only renders services to trees that are planted and maintained on traffic islands. Trees on pavements in front of a property are the responsibility of the property owner or tenant.
3. Planted trees on pavements
• The Parks Division does not render services to cut or remove trees on pavements and or on private property. Private companies needs to be contacted for assistance.
4. A tree on a neighbour’s property interfering with another property needs to be sorted between the two neighbours.
• Parks Division does not cut trees on private property.
5. Tree interfering with overhead electrical lines
• This service is rendered by the Electricity Department.
