The Municipal Fleet Division is located at the Municipal Garage in Patterson Street, Southern Industrial Area. The division’s overall responsibility is to ensure that the City of Windhoek has a dependable fleet in order to fulfill its mandate. The division provides maintenance, repair, and replacement of the City of Windhoek vehicles and equipment. The division ensures that the City of Windhoek has the optimum number and type of vehicles, plants, and equipment and that fleet growth is planned and controlled accordingly. The division maintains cost maximization by reducing per unit maintenance costs and eliminating old, expensive to maintain vehicles and equipment through public auctions. The division is also responsible for vehicle license renewals, mass distance charges, and road-worthiness of all vehicles, plants, and equipment of the City of Windhoek.
