• All daily, weekly, and monthly lease amounts will be payable in advance and receipt will be controlled or inspected daily.
• Water and electricity and other services provided at the markets must be used wisely and economised.
• Products and activities shall be allowed as listed on the lease agreements.
• Activities shall be restricted to the allocated stand or area.
• No liquor or Tombo will be allowed into the market.
• Every lessee or trader will be responsible for the cleaning of his/her stand and immediate environment on a daily basis.
• Toilets to be kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Lessees will be responsible for damages caused to municipal property, and such damage shall be reported to the responsible Coordinator or the Economic Development Officer.
• No fixtures or fittings belonging to Municipal buildings/properties shall be removed or altered. Alterations will only be allowed with the written consent of the Manager: Economic Development.
• No loose electrical leads will be permitted from any stand or kiosk.
• Advertising shall be displayed as determined by the Manager: Economic Development.
• Dangerous and inflammable materials (like petrol); weapons or firearms are strictly prohibited in the market.
• No activities shall be creating a nuisance, damage or loss to neighbouring stand.
• No gossiping and/ or accusing others of practicing witchcraft etc. at the market.
• No quarrels or fights will be allowed at the market.
• No gambling will be allowed at the market.
• No vehicles will be allowed on the market premises except with the written approval by the Manager: Economic Development. (not applicable to carwash)
• No trading will be allowed on the paved areas outside the market or within 500 meters of the market.
• A person who contravenes any provision of the Informal Trading Regulations or commits an offence is liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding N$ 2,000.00 or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months or to both such fine and such imprisonment.
