The Business Training and Development Unit is focused on building the capacity, skills and knowledge of entrepreneurs with the sole purpose to inspire prospective and existing entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.

The Oshetu ICT Training Centre is equipped with ten (10) computers that are used to facilitate information technology training as a tool to:

• Empower Youth
• Strengthen Participants’ Capacity
• Equip Participants with Skills in Management & Utilization of IT

The Business Training and Development Unit gives business development and training programmes for a variety of groups, which include:

• All entrepreneurs (new and existing business) within the boundaries of the City of Windhoek
• Youth entrepreneurs (existing and start-ups – 18-35 years)
• Female entrepreneurs

Interested individuals or groups may collect application forms at Soweto Market, Small Business Information Centre (SBIC) or send email requests to the Business Training and Development Unit, or visit the Oshetu Office.

Application forms for training are free of charge. It must be completed and submitted before the training takes place. Trainees indicate which training they wish to attend and thus sign up for the training when submitting the application form.

Training Fees are gazetted annually and currently range from N$ 52.50 – N$ 250.00 Some courses are free. All short Courses take place in one (1) day from 09h00-16h00 at venues communicated in advance. The Improve your Business (IYB) takes place for a full five (5) days.

All trainees are issued with Certificates of attendance upon completion of a training course:

• Trainings are normally offered during weekdays and no training are offered on weekends
• Training takes place monthly
• Venues are communicated in advance.
