What do I do if I forgot something in the bus?
The City of Windhoek advises commuters to always look after their belongings when boarding the bus and ensure that they don’t leave them behind when exiting the buses. However, if a commuter forgot something in the bus, they are encouraged to contact the Public Transport offices immediately at 061 290 2436 to report and give details of the items left behind as well as the route/line and bus number where the commuter was traveling from.

 

Where do I get the bus timetable?
The bus timetable is available on the City of Windhoek Website; however, clients are also welcome to call the Public Transport offices at 061 290 3371 or 061 290 2436/2122.

 

What happens if I lose my bus smartcard?
A client is advised to report his/her lost smartcard to Public Transport Offices at 061 290 3520/3524 for the card to be blocked immediately.

 

What is the maximum amount of money that I can load into my smartcard?
The maximum amount a client can load in the smartcard is NAD 2000.00

 

Where can one buy a smartcard and how does it work?
Bus service smart cards are available at all the City of Windhoek offices at the customer care counters where residents pay their municipal bills. How it works, a client needs to take along his /her ID to apply for the bus smartcard. For the first time users, the card will be issued free of charge. The client is then expected to re-charge the smartcard with a certain amount of money depending on his/her traveling needs.

 

What are the bus pick up times per shifts?
Our morning shift trips all starts at 05H30 from the first bus stop in a particular route or bus line.
In the afternoon, our starting times varies. We have trips that starts at 13H30 to accommodate scholars and 15h30. Our peak trips in the afternoon starts at 16H30 with the last trip starting at 17H30.

 

How much is your bus tickets?
The City of WHK bus services offers two methods of payment when commuters uses our buses. A commuter can either pay using a smartcard or pay buy cash. A single trip with a smartcard costs NAD8.50 while payment by cash is NAD 9.50.
